Behind the Mirror

Behind the Mirror

This artwork uses color inversion to explore the contrast between external appearance and internal emotional states. The clown figure represents a socially constructed cheerful persona, while the torn face reveals hidden vulnerability and authentic emotions. The repeating eyes symbolize societal observation and pressure, emphasizing emotional fragmentation. Through inverted color relationships, the work reflects the fluid nature of emotions and invites viewers to reflect on the emotional masks worn in everyday life.

Play the Past, Live the Present

This poster uses a contemporary illustration style to highlight the cultural value of Malaysian traditional games such as Congkak, Gasing, Batu Seremban, and Sepak Raga. Symmetrical composition and vibrant colors create a lively visual atmosphere while traditional decorative motifs reinforce Malaysian cultural identity. The design aims to reconnect younger audiences with traditional games and encourage the preservation of local heritage.

Dreamscape Journey

Dreamscape Journey

This artwork explores a dreamlike world through surreal digital collage. The three compositions present different atmospheric spaces, moving from natural environments to futuristic and floating imaginative scenes. This progression reflects curiosity and exploration of the unknown. Soft pink and purple tones create a dreamy and mysterious atmosphere, inviting viewers into a space where imagination goes beyond reality.

ILLUSION
1 / 3

ILLUSION

ILLUSION is a visual identity design for an art and design exhibition that explores how visuals provoke perception and reflect societal shifts through transformation. The title refers not to deceptive falsehoods, but to the concept of "visual evolution" — how images, forms, and designs continuously change and adapt to mirror personal and cultural narratives. From graphic works to interactive installations, each piece in the exhibition represents a node of visual exploration, collectively forming what the campaign describes as a "visual odyssey."

Level Up

Level Up

Level Up is a game magazine project featured in my portfolio. It explores gaming culture through editorial design, combining bold typography, vibrant colors, and dynamic layouts to capture the excitement of the gaming world while creating an engaging and visually appealing reading experience.

Froopop

Froopop

Froopop is a brand project about a natural sweet snack brand made from real fruit with no added sugar or artificial ingredients. The design presents a fun and playful identity while highlighting the brand's values of natural, healthy, and guilt-free sweetness.

The Art of Light

The Art of Light

The Art of Light is a visual expression that uses light as the main creative medium. In photography, light is not just a source of visibility, it is the key to emotion, atmosphere, and storytelling. By manipulating the direction, color, intensity, and texture of light, we can transform ordinary scenes into poetic and symbolic images. In my photos, light itself becomes the main character.

Isometric

Isometric

This artwork explores the concept of isometric design by transforming the initials "SJ" from my name, Sinjie, into a surreal landscape. The letters are constructed using isometric structures and integrated with natural elements such as trees, waterfalls, clouds, and floating platforms. Soft pastel colors and playful details create a dreamy atmosphere, turning the typography into an imaginative environment that blends architecture and nature.

Detention
1 / 2

Detention

This work explores memory, guilt, and redemption through fragmented, ritual-like chapters inspired by Detention and the White Terror era. Each scene blends personal guilt with collective history—burning joss paper, tending altars, unfolding paper crafts. It remembers the silenced victims and ends with a haunting twist: the ghost is the self who cannot forgive. Mixing folklore, history, and psychological horror, it becomes both a memorial and a mirror.
